Acid Staining and Scoring
Acid Staining:
Chemical stains can be applied to new or old, plain or colored, interior
or exterior concrete surfaces. Although often called acid stains, acid
isn't the ingredient that colors the concrete. Metallic salts in an
acidic solution react with the lime in the hardened surface creating the
color change.
Scoring:
Scoring concrete gives you a wide range of design choices. Scored
patterns range from the most popular, which gives you the look of tile,
to more detailed cutting, including: stars, compass roseses, and other
geometric shapes. Scoring can be performed, square to the walls, or on a
45 deg angle. In doing this you can add a border along all the walls and
cabinets for a clean look. Concrete floors are a great alternative to
carpet and tile.
